At Ashaeda’s Desk

Silver Wolf’s feet and hands have now been officially finished. Ashaeda did the airbrushing last week, they were then handed to Arctonyx for a bath and final photos before they are shipped out to their home. We are wrapping up on a few projects and you’ll be seeing more final photos for parts coming soon, along with the fox premade we recently finished up.

We have made 6 difference cat patterns for our small wildcat base. We will be using these patterns for an assortment of client projects and upcoming premades in the future. The intention with these patterns is to learn more about making and utilizing reusable patterns for heads and learning the skills that come along with that. We are learning these new skills as a whole in the studio and hope this will help increase our work flow.
Ashaeda has been busy this week making pattern maps for both client and studio use for upcoming projects which will have swatches on the bottom and a cutting guide that is color coded for all of us to better track cutting of fur for projects that way more than one person can cut out a project and we can cut out multiple projects at once saving us time in station swapping and better fur piece management for assemb;y.

Cleaning up and detailing on the darss edar horns has continued. They will first be cast withthe smoother texture for a semi-toony style horn option. Then later will be pulled from those molds for full texturing and more variants made, including broken left and right, different shaped horns and elderly horns.
News in the Coffee Cavern
Check out our new products in the Etsy shop this month!

This month we have added our new hyena headbases! They are available in resin and foam and are now and options for clients to choose from for their builds.

Prototype 3D prints of the hyena jawset and tongue have been finished and prepped in mold boxes to be handed to Arctonyx for prototype casting. This is a back and forth process between all studio members to get to a final product for molding finished parts.
New Yeen clay prototypes have been cast and are currently back at Ashaeda’s desk for finish sculpting and texturing before they get handed back to Garrundt and Arctonyx for final molding for finished parts.

Garrundt has been busy working the last couple weeks hand sewing Kisumi’s hand pads into their paws from the outside after finishing up the inside sewing. The electronics are finished and just need the claws and closing after the pads are done.
Reorganized the fur closet and traded out a bunch of fur from our fur hoard into our studio closet for easy use for upcoming client projects, premades, and restocking con tails.

No pressure of couse! All donations are appreciated greatly.

Current Studio Health Status
Ashaeda’s surgery has been approved by insurance and is awaiting scheduling for their neck / lower back. In the mean time while waiting they are doing what they can do without hurting themselves. That means shorter work days and only working on specific things and being very aware of how their back / neck is doing at the time.
